Are you curious to see what I saw and get a rough picture of how I spent these 9 wonderful days the last week of August? If so, come along. I believe you will find the trip interesting!

Wednesday 24th August:

The coach leaves from Athens a little earlier than 6:00 am, always punctual to meet us in Evia.

Time we set off, 8:00 am sharp.

Time of arrival in Serbia 8.15pm.

There were several stops on the way, and the main stop for lunch was in Platamonas in Pieria. We changed our watches one hour backwards the moment we passed the borders in Skopje.

We passed the borders of Greece and entered Fyrom with a delay of 45 minutes at the customs and made it all the way crossing the country without a stop at all. We passed through Skopje which is located on the upper course of the Vardar River, the capital city. Too many concrete buildings, in short distance we caught sight of the fort in the city, but I am not writing anything more since there was no stop here.

What I saw throughout the way though was a mountainous country with very poor buildings and I truly wondered where the magic was! I had read of Fyrom being a beautiful country, but all we saw were vineyards and farms and not the best of fertile land for crops. It was really hot and when I touched the windows of the coach it reminded me the time when we were traveling through the dessert in Arizona to reach Las Vegas in the U.S.A.

There was another delay at the borders passing over to Serbia. A more beautiful country than Fyrom and you can see this difference the moment you step in. The houses here are a bit bigger with pointed roofs and tiles, -houses with beautiful gardens.  Yet another country which I cannot tell much because we did not have the chance to visit the centre or have a walk since we reached late and we really needed some rest. In all it was interesting because we had the anxiety to come to the hotel.

You see, the real trip starts when we reach the 3rd country, so be patient until the next entry.

Very interesting architecture in some of those buildings. Thank you for the wonderful photos without which I may never had an insight as to how these countries look like.
