What I did
The Lycabettus Hill by Night!

We had a long, really long weekend in Athens this week. We left Evia and drove to Athens on Thursday morning.

We spent one night at home as we had to visit the city centre and had a dinner outing which turned to be truly romantic up the Lycabettus Hill. I made reservations 2 days earlier as I truly wanted to secure a seat with a panoramic view. I wanted my visit out there to be truly unique and romantic.

We dined at the popular all over Athens, Restaurant of Orizontes celebrating a special date.

We left the car behind and took a taxi to drive us there even though our house is within a walking distance. You see, there is a huge problem finding parking space when you move the car and have to find an empty space to park it in the evening. Of course we have the same trouble during the day.

Anyway, it was worth every penny spent at Orizontes Restaurant. I cannot say that it was cheap, but it pays just to be out there with the breathtaking view, the professional service and exquisite cuisine.

Read my comments which I have posted on TripAdvisor:

Tip:  Avoid taking a taxi on your way back.  It costs a fortune, and there is just one taxi waiting and the driver tells you that he has to call for another taxi to come, and this means that he will charge you a lot for this.
It is easy to get a taxi if you walk further down not very far from where the funicular left you.
