A Short Break at a Stylish Hotel

We have decided to have a short break in the neighboring city of Chalkida.  We thought not to travel too far from where we live since petrol is so expensive here.

The cheapest price starts from 1.69 Euro and goes up to 1.75 Euro a litre). Yianni had some work on the way to Chalkida in the morning and he needed to be back much earlier the day we return, so we went on separate cars.

At first I thought to stop here and there for some photos but on the way I was stuck into heavy traffic because of some civil works on the road

We are staying at the hotel Pelagos which I have visited several times in the past either for seminars or meetings. I have had dinner outings here as a guest many times from some English Book Publishing companies.

The hotel is quite old but it still keeps its radiant of glory and good-will. It is like an Art Gallery, very different from what we find in other hotels.

The person responsible for this artistic style is Mrs Fani Alexandrou, one of the owners of the hotel.

We are given a room overlooking the gardens and the beautiful beach.

So, have a look on the hotel, tell me how you find it and join us for a wonderful short trip in the neighboring city. There is a door knocker on our door like on all other doors here, -knock it and come in. I shall take you along to see a few interesting spots shortly.
