FLYING TO BUCHAREST
Trip Start Aug 15, 2003
56Trip End May 01, 2009
I am flying to Bucharest tomorrow, to meet my husband who is in the boarders of Bulgaria at the city of RUSSE, working as a director in a factory there for a few months.
The flight is very early in the morning, and we have to be 2 hours earlier - that is at 4.00 . The thought of getting up so early is killing me, but I am anxious to see my husband, and visit this new city that my husband tells me that is very interesting.
I am traveling with one of the directors of the company, who goes there for a week as well.
We have reached the airport in Bucharest, and a private taxi is waiting to drive us to Russe
The trip to Russe is about 75 km and we have to drive through the city of Bucharest. It is pity that we are in a hurry and we don't have a stop at all. I promise myself to be back one day and spend at least 3 days in the capital city of Romania. The city seems beautiful and interesting.
ARRIVING TO RUSSE
I am happy to see my husband and he is anxious to show me around. The city seems very beautiful with nice buildings. There are many young people in the streets, and I am happy that the hotel is central.
The following days I have long walks in the shopping area, and with my camera take many photos. Everything is so cheap here, and I am excited that I have found a Cosmetics' shop with spa products which I find extremely cheap and of good quality at the same time. I walk in the market area and buy fruit which I love. There are villagers selling their own products in the side of the street, and the products seem to be picked from their own gardens.
I eat in a nearby restaurant with just a few euros, and I return to the hotel and enjoy a spa bath every afternoon
This is the last night and we are having dinner at Hayat Hotel. The hotel has a nice indoor garden with flowers, and the waiters are ready to serve us. We enjoy dinner, and we talk about tomorrow's trip back to Athens.
Unfortunately the time has come for us to leave, and I have to fly back leaving my husband behind for another 2 months.
It is sad to leave my husband back, but I have no alternative. It is a rainy day, and throughout the trip back it is raining heavily.
The fields in Romania are filled with Sunflowers, the roads are quite narrow though, and make the trip a bit dangerous.
I am scared and anxious to reach the airport.
After one hour waiting in a queue we handed in our luggage and we are ready now to fly back.
Impressions? The best for Russe, and looking forward for the next trip now!
