MOVING ON TO SUMUI TODAY!!!!
It is the 24th of August and we fly to Koh Samui , We arrive at 10 pm. The whole place looks exotic. Yes....it is just how I expected it to be. Even the plane which is carrying us is colorful with exotic birds drawn on it. Our small plane lands in a place which seems more or less like a huge field. My heart is beating quickly now. I want to shout out of happiness, and at the same time I am anxious and curious to see if the local representative is out there waiting to welcome us and drive us to the Coral Beach Resort where we booked.

Yesssss! Here he is with a big sign with our names on.
We get in the taxi, which it cost me something like 30 euro, and to my surprise the resort is just outside the airport..... It is here that I get my first lesson.
I did not check with the distance well!!!!
I could have picked up a taxi and be driven to the resort with just 2 euros.

This is a paradise. I cannot describe the place...You have to enter the site and check on the resort if you are traveling there. Do spend 3 or 4 days at this resort before you move on to the city.
Everything seems so exotic! The room is huge, and the bath... something else!!! The owner must have worked miracles!! The cottages are scattered in this huge yard which is full of palm trees, orchids, and all sorts of exotic flowers. I am so anxious that I ran to the beach even if it was dark that same evening when we arrived to check on the shore.
Woh!!!! I am looking forward for the day to come!!!!

The bed,...well it reminds me of "the Flingstone's family" It is made of huge trunks, and the furniture massif wood. There is a big verandah with 2 lounch chairs, and everything looks perfect. There is also a tray and a teapot....my favourite facility and a must in the room.

We have breakfast, and I can't wait to explore the whole area. There is even a small island not very far from the shore, and I noticed that many people can walk up there, depending on the tide of the waters.

Our local representative arrives early the next morning and we arrange to have a tour on the 30th to the MARINE NATIONAL PARK.
(Don't leave the Island without going there)

It is the very first day and after breakfast I leave the premises walking all the way towards the shore, towards the island. Then suddenly I come to the very end of the beach and I see that on the other side on my right hand, this same beach continues for more than 3 miles. The beach on this side is full of resorts, and I decide to continue walking until I come to the hotel which I have booked and which we are going in a few days. The atmosphere here is different.
The sea is different too.
To be honest I can't tell which is best. The combination of the two is the perfect thing however.

The centre of the village is just a couple of miles, and there is a bus stop outside the hotel's resort.
We usually have dinner out in the village, and believe me I loved every moment spent on this beautiful island. These places in the East are the paradise for sea food. Lobsters and shrimps are on the daily menu.

It is the 26th of August, and we have to move on to other resort. We booked at the Chaba Samui Resort. I was looking forward for this next move, and we were ready to go on. The hotel is centrally located, and the quality of the waters are even better than on the other resort!!

After dining (barefoot) on the sand at the premises of the hotel we have a long walk along the shore with my husband. Walking hand in hand in the waters along this beautiful shore I felt so blessed and lucky. The following days were even better.
Long hours on the beach, enjoying dinner with lobsters and sea food, drinking fine wine, and long walks along the shore!! This is the kind of vacation I longed for after the trip to Bali.

I have already studied the map and know by heart where we can find everything. We arrange with the taxi driver who driven us to this resort to drive us around the island for a start. The private taxi is the best solution to move around and we had him driving us to different spots on the island either for sightseeing or for dinner.

The island is beautiful, but it is time for us to move on. It is the 1st of September and we have to catch the plane and fly back through Bangkok to Athens. Luckily we have an evening flight so we take advantage of the very last day to idle around, do some last minute shopping -buying some souvenirs.

The trip is long - 10 hours - from Bangkok to Athens. We are on board the plane, but I have all these nice memories to remember. I close my eyes, lie back on the seat and enjoy the flight!!!!
