(C) - We finally made it to the duomo.  Only took us one month (which is better than we ever did in the Washington Monument which only took 17 years to visit - oops, never did).  Anyway - one month is a virtual triumph.

Picked a really nice afternoon and a relatively low bus ride-ratio.  Not so many tourists in the piazza that we wanted to drown ourselves in poo.  Found a pretty short line to get in and walked up unencumbered by walkers or bluehairs.  Such a great afternoon - the view makes you swoon.  Spent much of the afternoon chasing Sara around the cupola as she ran from British Columbians with cameras.  Found some nice grafitti dedicated to my sister - whose reputation is - apparently - international.  :)

(S) - First, Kara - your brother is a moron, which of course you are aware. Secondly, 17 years with no Washington Monument? Not this cowgirl. I was only 12 and still at country school 17 years ago. But, sad but true, I've never been to the top. Third, this was a great afternoon and view. Minus our wonderful friends from around the world who find it essential to take photos of everything, but mostly each other, while sitting on the ground near every scenic overlook. But, seriously, the climb to the top and the the sunset from the top of the Santa Maria del Fiore was one of my favorite times in Florence.

Italian bandittos?
Although the bandit has been tamed a bit, I'm pleased to learn of my popularity!

We had a disastrous Sunday Funday yesterday and you both were missed. Immediately after the 10-miler, Trish and I hit the bar to consume waaay too many beers. We drank pitchers and pitchers of Belgian in your honor, Chad.
