(C) Yesterday we went to the Pitti Palace to buy a three-day pass which all the guidebooks said we could get.  This would have given us time in the Pitti Palace museums plus the Boboli and everything else.  Because it was very popular, the Italians have canceled this option.  Now you can only buy a one-day pass.  Because it was already 4pm we decided to scratch and come back another time.  We marveled in the luxury of being able to walk away from a Florentine museum guilt-free to come back another day... something no tourists get to do.

Of course, the next day we came to Boboli and it was raining.  We paid our $1000 and wandered around alone in this carefully sculpted backyard for the Medicis.  We saw a lot of cats.  A very lazy porcupine (well, it's unclear what sort of animal he was).  He also might have been dead.

The scenery was spectacular anyway and we took some really nice pictures.  Planned to go back another sunny day - which we're still waiting for.

(S) Ok, so here's the Sara take on this one. By the way, how genius is this - we just walked around the city (it's now the end of March and we only have a few days left) and are now sitting in an Irish bar, drinking beers and listening to a myriad of languages while Robbie Williams plays on the stereo. But, back to the Boboli day...

We actually showed up at 3 pm and the sun was brilliantly shining. Chad starting pouting because of the 3 day pass thing. He should go to the rez and try to get an id card on the one day they have decided to be open. Or go to the clinic when they just don't feel like seeing patients. But I digress...  So we went back the next day. I got bit by a cat. And Chad wouldn't let me take the hedgehog (not a porcupine) home to nurse it back to health. It was not dead - but covered in ticks.

But, the day was beautiful. Enjoy the pictures. Sara out.

Good stuff
I am enjoying your updates SO MUCH! They are cracking me up, but I love hearing about everything you are doing. I'm not sure that Jarrod & Karl know that you took a pic of them in the Boboli gardens. I'll make them look today. Have fun!
