(C) We made it!  Only took two days.  Fog delay into Salt Lake.  Missed connection.  Equipment delay into Atlanta, missed connection by 2 minutes.  Grrr.  Overnight in Atlanta's finest airport inn, which might have rented by the hour, and then a quick 6 hour layover at Paris airport.

Stepped onto the runway at Florence in 60 degree balmy sunshine.  So happy to get the rental car and finally locate our new house.  What an awesome house!!! and we have the nicest landlady in the world, a dog, and a giant yard with a view of the mountain and Fiesole.  How did we get so lucky?

(S) So finding our house was not the easiest venture. Note to self: bring a map next time. Or directions that are not in Italian from new landlord. After weaving around in the hills above Florence for 45 minutes, we happened down a potholed road and miraculously found our new home.
First impression: It doesn't suck - in fact the apartment and yard are beautiful. It's a 17th century Italian villa, Palmerino, which our landlord, Federica, has renovated into 2 apartments with her home upstairs. Pictures attached as it's difficult to describe.
Also, a giant friendly German Shepard named Palmina roams the grounds, constantly trying to put her nose in our business.
