(S): Ahhh...so the adventure continues. This time to Southern Italy. For 3 weeks. First a note about the title of this blog - it's a title of a song by Pat Green, one of my all time favorite singers and was suggested by a good friend and fan of Gr8escape's travel adventures. Thanks, Mary! Yes, we do have gypsy souls - and they do get a bit threadbare when we don't get to travel.
I'm a little sad we are not leaving from Billings, MT this time - we've had some unique experiences with that. Denver it is! The one reason we're not is we have a wonderful house-sitter and do not have to take the wondermutt to my parent's in MT.
Now, for the trip. As usual, we have nary a plan. Well, we know when we arrive and when we leave, but the rest of the trip is yet to be filled in. We know we are spending two days in Rome, even getting to see an old co-worker from the US Senate days. Then we drive south through Campania and Calabria to Sicily. Then around Sicily and back up through Calabria, Basilicata, and Apuglia. We plan to camp, but anyone who is familiar with our travels will know we will run into rain. And lots of it. It's just our deal. We're prepared. And we're ready to go! We did a shorter trip last year, a very civilized 8 days through the UK. Which just means we're chomping at the bit for something a little rougher. Which I guess is Sicily.
So here we go - onward to Italy!

Waiting, waiting....
Thumbing through the tattered pages of the Italian issue of Bon Appetite, hoping for a new post on Gr8escape...
Hope you're having fun and I can't wait for the narrative!
