(S) For the first time in over two years we are leaving on a trip for longer than 5 days without our backpacks. It's a slightly sad day. Why you ask? Why am I even mentioning this? Aren’t I thrilled I don’t have to pack everything for five weeks into my red Osprey? The thing is I love my backpack. I actually love loading it down with my sleeping bag, pad, pillow, an extra pair of shoes, a few toiletries, and my two packing cubes with clothes. I love one backpack is all I really need to survive for weeks on end through all sorts of crazy places; I’m proud I am low maintenance enough to make it work. Even when it let me down, held me down like a turtle on its back, and caused me to get stepped on by Bulgarian train goers, it still held a bottle of wine to enjoy and to help alleviate the mental pain of my sprained ankle (read the previous travelblog for this story). But this time it is staying home and I’m using a ginormous grey suitcase with wheels. Wow – this must be a real vacation.

Yes, you read correctly, a real vacation. A real honeymoon. But first we have to make it to the airport by 6 in the morning. Which means we have to leave our house in Boulder at 5. Which means we have to get up around 4:15. Who made these arrangements? And is this his idea of romantic? Luckily, we made it to DIA safe and sound.

(C) Correct.  We got married!!  Even after all the travails of Europe and then "Back in the Ring," we have learned that anyone who could put up with either of us were meant to be together.  Besides, I love her more than life itself.  How could you ever replace all those mornings waking up in a tent together.  Living out of a car across Spain?  The Balkans?  Turkey?  Riverton?  We are meant to be together and we are meant for each other.  When you find the right girl who makes every day full of sunshine - and even occasionally and often, sarcasm - you just don't let that go!
So even though on this trip we're not travelers, we're honeymooners, we still loved the places so much we wanted to post the travels here.
