Camping Nostalgie

(C) So we took Ali's advice and traveled to Camping Nostalgie on the south coast of Turkey.  After we were on our way, we realized we'd been hooked because now we're in charge of a bottle of wine to be delivered between campings.  We can't just find another place.  But anyway, it's probably easier anyway, right?
Except, when we got to Nostalgie, http://www.nostalgiebeach.com/, there was a wedding going on, there was no space, and the manager spoke only the deutsch.  Once again, my travel partner earns her travel fare by busting out some genetic german skills and flashing those big blue eyes to the Swiss proprietor, Gabriele.  Problem solved, there is a camping platz. The place is awesome.  Right on the beach.  Private home.  Camping in the garden.  Nefles growing wild.  She found us a place and we set up tent right next to some awesome neighbors.  After a walk on the beach and a fantastic homecooked meal, we spent some time chatting with our neighbors.  What a story!
German husband, educated at medical school in the U.S.  Malaysian wife, medical school in the U.K.  They're on trek from UK to Malaysia via the middle east and India in a converted Volkswagen camping-van that is literally a home on wheels.  She has to go home to pay off her education and he's going with her.  Oh, AND she's many months along with baby.  I can't even imagine traveling overland across the world this way, much less with a pregnant wife.  While my first impression is that the travel partner would never agree to this kind of insanity, part of me also thinks she'd be all for it.
Anyway, we hear so many inspirational travel stories when camping that I wouldn't travel any other way.  What a fun idea!  Put the pan-asian overland camping trip one into the future travel proposals.

(S) It would appear time eases the pains of camping, namely that the showers and sinks were outdoors in the middle of the camping and freezing cold. And that as we were waking up in the morning, a kitty tried to claw her way into the tent door. Chad thought this was much less humorous than me. Much like I thought the outdoor shower was less charming than he did.
But, the setting, conversation and food were fantastic.
