Following on from my fabulous map-reading skills, we had an excellent tour around a residential area filled with cul-de-sacs and building sites. We saw the "chaos" and needed the "respite"!
The more we got lost the more I was determined (typical male) not to give my business to the dozens of touting Tuk-Tuk drivers. I reasoned that we'd be even hotter and dirtier sitting in the traffic jam than walking past the stationary traffic. That's my excuse anyway!
Light eventually dawned when we retraced our footsteps and discovered that the "railway tracks" on the map were above street level and not the tracks at street level we were following...
The garden is tropical and looks lovely. But if only you could hear the traffic noise from behind those walls! The "house" is a collection of teak houses and there is a modern museum attached showing a collection of artefacts from Northern Thailand.
The lacquered pavillion is a gem. Lovely to walk around inside the double skinned building. Calm, cool and beautifully decorated inside.
