This was a hard travel day: We started with a van from the hotel, which had to go over two ferry stops and then drive for 3 hours. After that we changed to a private taxi ride for 2 hours to the pier for then a 2 hour ferry ride to Pulau Langkawi.

We rented a car (if you can call it that, small!) for the day and went around the island. Our trip took us to the second highest mountains on the island and a cable car ride to the top. A stop at a Bird Park and the old town of Langkawi for dinner and drinks.

We spent 2 days on the beach under umbrellas reading and improving on our tan. Found a great restaurant called the Red Tomatoes.
