We jumped on a bus for the about 3 ˝ hour ride to the pier and then a "fast ferry" for 2 hours (they have a slow ferry, cost less and takes 4 hrs) to the small island of Ko Tao. The island was named by its first settlers for the island's turtle-like geographic shape (Ko Tao in Thai). Coincidentally, the island is an important breeding ground for Hawksbill turtles and Green turtles. The island is famous as a diving mecca, thanks to its water´s high visibility and coral. The beach was great and the sunset over drinks was wonderful.
