We went to the Itaipu Dam built on the Parana River between Brazil and Paraguay, the Dam and its hydroelectric power plant is responsible for the generation of 25% of the electric energy consumed by Brazil and 90% of Paraguay. It has a total of 18 generators with 700 mega watts each. It is the largest hydroelectric plant in the world, even when China completes theirs (at the three gorges) it will still be! Then we went to the border town with Paraguay to do some shopping. Things cost less for electrics then in Brazil, but not less the in the US.
