We left Asuncion, Paraguay for Sao Paulo, Brazil were we spent 2 days in what is the "business center" of the Country. Greater Sao Paulo has about 17 million people making it the third largest metropolis on the earth!
From our hotel to what is considered the center of downtown Sao Paulo which lies between Praca da Se and Praca da Republica squares by taxi it took about 1 1/2 hours, cost about $50. Our first stop was the Teatro Municipal which is one of the city's famous art nouveau buildings. Next, we went to the tallest building in the city the 41 story "Edificio Italia" for a terrace view (see pictures above). From their, the city just went on and on, as far as the eye could see! After this we took a local bus to the Museu da Arte de Sao Paulo which has the best collection of western art. The paintings were completed starting from 1500 AD, many young people were visiting the gallery the day we were their.
