We made our way to the famous and beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. Our first day in the city we had beautiful weather so we took a stroll through the old town market. A great lunch at the famous Justine's Restaurant where we have some "real" Southern cooking. Found out that we really do like the taste of okra! Also, had a chance have a rendezvous with a old workmate Elizabeth Seaborne from back in my old SAIC days.
Our next trip was a boat ride out to Fort Sumter where the first shots were heard, which started the Civil War. Enjoyed the history lesson from the spot where it all started. You can feel the history all around the Fort and when it was quiet hear the canon fire!
The city has a great feel with the Southern charm, water and some great restoration of historic buildings.

Great Pictures.
We love Charleston. Try Hominy Grill. Was written up in Southern Living and has really good food.
We, also, loved Charleston. Enjoyed listening to the accents. Drive safely and enjoy Christmas. Anxious to see where you'll spend the holidays.
