Our India Odyssey is at its end with our visit of 26 different cities within this vast country. To say we know India, from only these points of reference would be a gross overstatement. To say we understand the history, culture, religions, food, environment and the people to a greater depth would be more appropriate.

To condense our feelings of the trip down to one word, it would be intense. India brings out those feelings as defined in Webster’s “extreme, great, fierce, severe, high, exceptional, extraordinary, harsh, strong, powerful, overpowering, vigorous.” These feeling show themselves from the spicy food, the driving, the amount of people, the noise, to the size and different landscapes, the livestock in the streets and the poor and the wealthy.

India overwhelms yours senses in its being. It is a time machine - which has placed the world, as it was during the B.C. era through the medieval and post medieval period, British India, its independence, to its place as a major player on the world stage. All this is at your doorstep at one time and place, it is unbelievable.

In conclusion, I found a quote that brings all things together from Jawaharlal Nehru (1889-1964), who was a great Indian nationalist leader for independence and social reform of the country. He became first the prime minister of India.

“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.”
