We did not know it in advance, but we entered town two days before a annual festival for the city. It was great to be here during that time, but crazy with somewhere around 300,000 people coming from all around the state to party!
I made two videos, one is of the elephants getting ready to go in the parade down the main street and the second was of a sand painting contest done on the first day of the festival. It was interesting to see all the ruins (see the first entry) light-up with spot-lights at night. I got some great pictures of the goings on in the town, which I also posted.

Still enjoying your blogs. We talked to a checkout person at Walmart the other day. He was from India. I mentioned that we knew people traveling in India. He said there were over 100 different languages spoken in India. I told them it didn't matter to you since you only spoke English anyway....... Keep enjoying!
