Our first move was via overnight train to Varanasi. The trains are so booked up that in order to purchase a first class cabin (2 people) you must purchase it 1 year in advance or via the "black market" in 2 days! You pay much more but you have a ticket. The station in New Delhi was to say the least crazy, thousands of locals finding their trains and packing them full. A porter helped us outside the station with our bags and find our train and cabin. We left a about 7:30 pm and made it to Varanasi at about 8:00 am the next morning. The ride was not bad, we slept the whole way. A nice adventure!
