Our next stop was Mahango National Park (check out the sign for Yield)- with its rivers, magnificent indigenous woodlands, riverine forests, floodplains and reed - lined channels. A wide variety of wildlife species, including elephant, hippo, buffalo, crocodile, red Lechwe, reedbuck, roan and sable antelope.
During our game drive we came up to 3 young elephants playing in the river. We watched them for about 1 hour without them noticing that a car and people were around. Then they got up and left the river!
Built on the southern banks of the Kavango River from local timber and thatch; the small, secluded camp we stayed at offers simple but comfortable accommodation in idyllic surroundings.
