We are getting very lazy here in Pondy, like not getting out until 11:30, and then coming back for lunch, and it is so nice to just laze about for a while and the place we are staying is so comfortable it's just like having pur own little flat with it's own garden.
It is also nice being in a place long enough to get to know the town a bit, some of the shops vary a lot in price for the same thing, we bought some hand made incense sticks made by the people in Auroville just down the road, we paid 10 rupees a pack and a posh shop in the french part was selling them for 30 rupees. We have really been enjoying the french bread and the pastries, not so certain about the restaurants here that say they do French / Italian/ Indian food, we don't think their attempt at french food is that good. We have eaten at a couple of them and they were both quite ordinary really, and really expensive. As an example we went to an Indian restaurant today in Tamil town and we had 3 dishes and a Naan with 2 lime sodas, and it came to < 300 Rupees, in the french place the day before the bill was almost 1,000 rupees, and there wasn't as much food as the Indian meal.
