The Cape Escape

My first day in Boston I went to Cale Cod with my hosts, Tom who I work with and his brother Luke. We got a zipcar and drove all the way up to Provincetown, or Ptown. Provincetown was where the conservative pilgrims landed the mayflower; and now is owned by the gays. There were gay flags, gay shops, and gay people, among the tourists. It was a very quaint town with many of the homes restored. After having lunch on the windy beach, we played frisbee in a small park. Afterwards, we went up the pilgrim monument and looked out over the ocean be the town. Luke and tom's shirts kept flying up because it was so windy. It was a great view; oh and the ocean/town was nice too.
We drove back down and stopped in Hianus for capecod mud ice cream on their man street. We also stopped to see plymouth rock and had a beer at a local restaurant. While tom was waiting, the bartender looked at him and asked him what he wanted so he started to reply... Until some drunk bitch started yelling that her daughter was waiting first. Thank you mom and dad- for not taking the family to the bar, getting smashed at 6pm and start yelling at patrons (they wait until 11pm to do that).

Be healthy, drink, be healthy, drink again

We all got up Friday and worked out; I ran along the river for over an hour! I thought I had gotten to Harvard University and was not impressed which happened to be because I was one bridge shy of the school. Tom and I then went on the Sam Adams brewery tour which was free! We had about 4 beers of free beer along with learning about the brewery. They use hops, barley, water, and... Oh fuck it I'll take the stout with 9% alcohol. After this the amazing Luke made us stir fry with fried Tofu! It was so good I ate the massive plate he had handed me. We were joined by Liza, Lukes partner of 5 years. Btw, these people are absolutely gorgeous and brilliant. They both graduated from the U and they live on the MIT campus where Luke is doing research. Liza graduated from Boston college and now works with geriatric patients. Didn't I mention they are nicer than nice?
We then went out to Mcexpensiveloudmusic which turned out to be a bust because they charged $5 cover at 8:30 and we couldn't hear each other. We then went to sanctuary. They were expe dove too but reletively worth it. We met up with some of liza and luke's friends: phil, mari, and jackie. Overall the night was kind of a bust because liza had a stomach ache and NO ONE would dance with me. Oh well

Off the trail

After I made everyone a decent breakfast consisting of oj, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, banana pancakes, powdered donuts, and vegetarian sausage, we headed out onto Boston's freedom trail. We saw boston's Capitol, a cemetary with Paul revere and john handcock whose gravestone looked like a penis. We saw kings church where there was boxes in pews: each family bought a pew and was given a foot warmer. They would huddle their family in with blankets because the church wasn't heated. We then sen to Quincy market square. They had street performers, tourist shops, designer stores, an enormous amazing food court, a farmers
Market, and even a holocAust rememberance walkway. Needless to say we didn't go much further. Melissa jensen called to borrow $359000 to buy her dreamhouse she had just toured in prospect park; I of course gave her the money after I had sex with every person at Quincy market. I was so excited at the farmers market because they had such cheap food! 2 packages of strawberries for $1, 2lbs of peaches for $1. I didn't happen to notice the food was overripe.
We also walked over to what was once their freeway which is now underground and replaced with a beautiful park. We were also going to pick up canolis in little italy but the line was 45 minutes long. We stopped doing the freedom tour and walked slowly back to the MIT campus because it was such a nice day.

Um....ok?

That Saturday nigt tom, luke, liza and I ate at Legal seafood. The food was excellent. Their Thai style calamari is to DIE for. I had two lobters because it was the same price as one. I should have stuck with one because those things are hard work!! The only unfortunate thing was our server: after tom asked for a coffee refill, she NEVER came back. It had been half an hour when tom finally asked for the manager. We asked if we did something wrong, if the server was having a bad night (she walked around us and attended to her other tables), and lethim know we're servers so we understand a overlyreasonable amount of imperfection. But she never came back. So he comped $70 off our bill. Score. At least the food was great.

Philly here I come.
