When well-planned and properly executed, train travel through or around Europe (I have in mind mostly young people although seniors may also qualify) is always more attractive and I would argue more convenient, more open-ended in what it offers as an extra to mere transportation than air-travel.
That is how it was and that is how (i believe) it will be for quite some time ahead.
