After four days at Kruger, we returned to J'burg and flew to Cape Town. I am happy to report that we made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare to catch our flight to Cape Town.
In Cape Town, we stayed at a beautiful guest house called the Cactus Berry in the Gardens area of Cape Town, it was within walking distance to most of CT's major attractions.
We spent the first day taking in all the sites around town including the downtown core and the waterfront. We also went to the National Gallery to view a Picasso in Africa exhibit. Cape Town is a very beautiful city and very modern and affluent. The number of luxury cars was just astounding, Ferraris, Bentlys, Benzs, you name it. If I didn't know where I was, I could have sworn I was in California. One thing is very apparent though, there is still a very large chasm between rich and poor. While the apartheid regime is gone, its after effects are certainly very much there.
The next day we visited Table Mountain which overlooks the Cape peninsula. The views from there were just amazing. We then took a 'convertible' double decker and took a tour of the city, where we visited some of the more affluent beach communities.
