Time to brush up on our Portuguese
, get a handle on the exchange rate
(is their money REAL?) and (for me) learn a bit more about this lovely city
For this trip we won't have to pack a bunch of clothes because we'll only be gone for a week. Plus the weather is supposed to be very warm there this time of year. So we're planning to take 2 bags (yes, just 2!) plus all of our necessary electronic stuff (for some reason we can't leave home without all that stuff).

March 19, 2006: Well once again, we are in the planning stage for another great trip out of the country. This time it's a celebration of Michael's birthday (I won't tell his age). So we thought we'd head over to one of his favorite countries to bask in the sun, see some incredible sights, stroll the bustling streets, even trek through the rain forest. We initially thought of leaving you a bunch of clues as to the destination of our next great escape, but Michael thought better of it. "Why tease them?" he asked.
