March 19, 2006: Well once again, we are in the planning stage for another great trip out of the country. This time it's a celebration of Michael's birthday (I won't tell his age). So we thought we'd head over to one of his favorite countries to bask in the sun, see some incredible sights, stroll the bustling streets, even trek through the rain forest. We initially thought of leaving you a bunch of clues as to the destination of our next great escape, but Michael thought better of it. "Why tease them?" he asked. I thought it would be kind of fun to let you all guess our destination and then offer a special gift for everyone who guessed correctly. But instead, we'll just tell you that we're headed to Rio de Janeiro, one of the most beautiful cities in South America (or so I'm told).

Time to brush up on our Portuguese, get a handle on the exchange rate (is their money REAL?) and (for me) learn a bit more about this lovely city.

For this trip we won't have to pack a bunch of clothes because we'll only be gone for a week. Plus the weather is supposed to be very warm there this time of year. So we're planning to take 2 bags (yes, just 2!) plus all of our necessary electronic stuff (for some reason we can't leave home without all that stuff).

Aha!
Well you won't need much clothes in Brazil, on the beach they can 'spot' an Americano right away. So toss away your inibitions and have a good time. Tell us all about it of course. Looking forward to 'travelling' with you both. Love ya

Well, the gift was not going to be a bra -- more like a T-shirt or a key chain or something. How about we buy you the bikini bottom and you buy the top (if you like). Or just hang on to the bottom so when you go to Rio you'll fit in perfectly on the topless beaches. Whadaya think?

So what are you saying here? Will we have to go au naturale to fit in with the locals? Believe you me, if we do that we will not be telling all about it. I don't think you could handle it! :)
