Back home from a quick trip to Panama City Beach, Florida for the weekend, and we are ready to head off to Montreal. The trip to Panama City was a last-minute weekend getaway thanks to Michael's sister, Jane, who emailed him an invitation two days ago for us to join her and her children, plus Michael's parents for a relaxing weekend at the beach to commemorate Resurrection (Easter) Sunday. She knew the Globetrotters could be ready for a trip at a moment's notice, and we were.

Much to our surprise, Jane had invited the entire clan from New Orleans, telling everyone to keep the invitation "hush-hush", which meant that we all thought that we were the only ones joining Jane and her kids. It was quite a surprise to see everyone--19 in total.

With no special plans, the whole gang gathered on Satruday for an impromptu family reunion full of the usual laughter and fun. After pizza dinner, we all watched the movie "Pride" in which Michael's brother, Keith, was featured as an extra. By then, folks were yawning and ready to turn in for the night.

After pancake breakfast on Easter Sunday, Jane, in her usual fashion, created a forum for everyone to share their thoughts and feelings about their experiences before, during and after Hurricane Katrina, an event that impacted everyone in the group. Everyone shared comments--some were heart-felt, some were comical, but all were sincere. Following that, we headed down to the beach for a little fun and then Michael and I had to hit the road back home to prepare for our trip to Montreal. It was great to see everyone.
