Twenty-four hours and counting. We decided for this trip that we would spend some time with family. I decided to invite my brother and sister-in-law (David and Arlette) along for an adventure to the beautiful island of Barbados. However, it is a total surprise for them. Since they will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary while we're away, what an awesome opportunity to surprise them with some fun in the sun while celebrating this milestone with them.

The plan has actually been in the works since we returned from skiing in Steamboat Springs, CO in January, and before we left for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in April.  Little do they know that they are about to travel with the Globetrotters. In the months leading to our departure, David and Arlette have received three anonymous letters notifying them of the very basic information for this trip. I wanted it to be a complete surprise.

I enlisted the help of several members of my family, who also knew very little about this trip, to pass along information to the unsuspecting couple. Jane's role in Atlanta was to deliver the first message and to ensure that David and Arlette had scheduled the time off. Cynthia, better known as Homeland Security, was in Raleigh and was tasked with making certain that their passports were current. Jackie, who lives in L.A. and is currently visiting New Orleans, where David and Arlette live, is tasked with getting them to the airport on time. Not a problem for Jackie, who is well known for arriving at the airport no less than three hours in advance of departure time. My mom and sister Barbara in New Orleans were given snippets of the plan. Sinitta, the daughter of the couple, who wasn't part of the original plan, fell right into the scheme when she received the final letter four days ago, which contained the e-tickets and further information.

In the meantime, we've been anticipating this great trip and have enjoyed all of the logistics that have gone along with it. Anita and I are due to meet up with David and Arlette tomorrow morning at Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport when they stop-over for their second leg of the trip. Jane made a final call to them tonight to ensure all is well. Jackie is in position to get them to the airport at 4:00 a.m. for their 6:00 departure. And the happy couple is packed for tropical weather, still unsuspecting of where they are headed.

We've finished our packing and now are ready for bed, for we too have to get up early to arrive at the airport before they do. Our plan is to be in place to monitor their arrival and, if possible, videotape them as they anticipate meeting up with Jane, whom they expect will be traveling with them. Little do they know, we'll be coming along. Stay tuned for details as this secret unfolds......

Surprise in Barbados??!
Holy Guacamole, can you surprise me with some free tickets to go see the O'Jays? I love music, any kind of music. Music makes the atmosphere so fine, specially when you have a full glass of wine.

You all are too much. What if you catch your relatives bathing topless on the beach? Ever thought about THAT before surprising them?!!!!
After 25 years of marriage they aren't the only ones beside Stella to get thier groove back...

Love,
Crazy Cristina

Topless bathing? Now that's an idea!
Love the musical intro. And no, we can't hook you up w/O'Jays tickets. But we've got the ins with the Chi Lites. You ought to be here. Maybe when hubby returns we'll all plan a welcome home getaway (is that an oxymoron?).

Talk with you soon. Stay tuned for more fun. We still have five more days left.
