Bagan was truely impressive. We spent two fun/sun filled days biking around thousands of Pagodas. They were built by different kings between the ninth and thirteenth century. We have now, officially, seen too many buddist Pagodas and Stupas, and in fact we refer to this state of mind as being stupa-fied. The pictures speak for themselves, but cannot do justice to the amazing sight of seeing the sunset from above the pagodas.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year my dear globe trotter. Wonder how and where you have celebrated New Year. I hope you are in good health and continuing enjoying your amazing trip. I have celebrated New Year with Hiro and some 20 friends in Geneva. Just had a week holiday that I spent here in Geneva. Nothing very exciting, but I really enjoyed my very Swiss holiday. Not having to get up early and having time to meet with my family and friends was great. I just missed you! I look forward to receiving some fresh news from the Far East. Lots of love. Léa
Who needs golden when we got Belgian
Well, being stupa-fied is better than being Stuc-afied. Like my daddy always told me, watch out for those Belgian showers.
But the supa-stupa flies were so long ago . . . you're long past those days. Hope the New Year madness was just that, and that nobody is now in a Bangkok jail. I understand 'Belgian showers' are a regular occurence in such places.
I'm bummed we couldn't make it, but we are teachers and we do have summers off, so we're coming to Europe this summer. Almost certain (but until we actually have tickets I wouldn't trust us - and when we do, I wouldn't trust us then, either, but we'll definitely be coming).
Anyway, we'll probably be staying in Venice for a week or two at a friend's apartment. We'd love it if you guys could come by. And we'd be happy to bother you guys in Switzerland if you'll be there.
We'll discuss this later. Go get drunk or something.

I know what you mean...
...as my brother quoted 'Forrest Gump' (when we were towards the end of our Burma trip)... 'Stupa is as Stupa does' :)
