Last day in Paradise. Today was a day to go shopping and later join everyone on top of Paradise Point overlooking Charlotte Amalie. Once again, we were treated to a beautiful montage of a Caribbean sunset. From the top, the undulating hills and city illumination of St. Thomas reminded me a lot of Rio de Janeiro, especially from the top of Pão de açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) overlooking Baía de Guanabara.
This was my second visit to the US Virgin Islands, and as in the past, it was once again difficult to say good-bye. This time, it was even more momentous with the wedding of two special friends. Although it was a short weekend, I was able to carry home festive memories of a wonderful time in the Caribbean.
