Today we set off to Pedernales Falls...stopping off at a winery on the way of course!
Texas Hills Vineyard & Winery - This is a relatively small winery & vineyard conveniently located just before the entrance to Pedernales Falls State Park..made it almost rude not to pop in! So we stopped by, the tasting room is very small but more than adequate, we did collide with a coach of people on a wine tasting tour but they cleared fairly quickly and we were swiftly provided with a list of wines to taste, being the designated driver I decided to forgo most of the tasting and buy a bottle for when I returned home...perfect way to end the day!
Pedernales Falls State Park - The park is home to several camp sites and had areas to swim and walk but the major attraction is undoubtedly the Falls themselves. It was an overwhelmingly hot day when we visited but it was definately worth venturing out of the air conditioning for. Although wading or swimming in the water at the Falls was not permitted we did climb down and walked on the rocks that crossed below the Falls. Pedernales Falls is definitely a highlight on my tour of Texas so far!
