So today we drove to Austin. It took 4 hours, and we stopped for a bathroom break and a smoke half way at Waco. By then, on the interstate, we'd passed by 50 churches. The religious presence here is rather obvious. Pictures when I find my camera, which is around somewhere, I just can't be bothered finding it right now. By the time I find it they will probably be up already.

So. When we got to Austin, at 2pm, we went to meet some friends at a restaurant called Franks. Franks serves their drinks in clear jars, to give you an idea of how trendy it is. I had something called a Chubacabara, which was basically a hotdog, only real fancy.

After we went for a walk and I bought a cowboy hat. I'm told it suits me.

After we went shopping for food stuffs and I got a book/box and an umbrella that has a samurai sword handle

At 8pm we went to watch the thousand strong colony of bats under the congress bridge. It was amazing. When we left we ended up having to double back and go back over the congress bridge and there was a huge amount of bats in large lines that were taking off from under the bridge to fill the sky like a spotted, squiggly rainbow.

We went back to our hotel after, which is quiet decent. Two queen sized beds and 3.00 internet.

It's looking like we'll be going back to Dallas tomorrow because as much as I like Austin, I think I'm getting a little homesick and need some time to myself. Dubai should be good for that.

More tomorrow.

Expect a more detailed summary of everything when I'm in Dubai and have a bit of time to think to myself.
