We rose early to catch the bus from Baņos back to Latacunga, as Glenn wanted to climb the Cotopaxi volcano. We got dropped off in the usual spot in Latacunga - way out of town, and again walked in and returned to the same accommodation that we had last time.

We didnīt have the same bargaining power with only two people now, and so settled on a smaller room, which was still nice. Heading out for lunch we of course went back to our favourite little cafe, where the lady remembered us (and no Jason, our photo still wasnīt on the wall). Oh and we finally put our finger on what was in those hot chocolates she gave us - Pisco! (grape brandy). Christie got another one that was much stronger this time.

We set off and saw the tour agencies to see if it was possible to organise a Cotopaxi trip (more difficult with only one person - Christie wasnīt going to climb it). We had lost any acclimitisation to altitude that we had previously as Baņos was quite low, and after a lot of debate as to risk trying or not, we realised that we did not have enough time left to acclimatise for Glenn to climb Cotopaxi. Latacunga was again a bad luck charm for us and we decided to head to Riobamba the next day.

To make it worse (yes, worse than a moping Glenn!), that night we realised we again had bedbugs, all from a hotel that was so perfect last time we stayed here. The bottom of the bed seemed to be covered in dirt, and it was Christie (again) that was the subject of their delight. Needless to stay we didnīt hang around in the morning!
