Today started slowly with just a few items on the agenda: lunch at a super Bostony place, Harpoon brewery tour, and possibly the removal of the hairy raccoon all over my face at a barbershop. Unfortunately did not get to the last item; that will have to wait until NY.

Lunch was excellent. The place was JM Curley's on Beacon Hill. They had a limited lunch menu but quite good and reasonably priced. Annick and Fabian met me there; they arrived very late last night and were unfortunately led on a wild goose chase by yours truly to find a bar, so this was the first time we'd met up.

We then all went to the brewery for a tasting and tour, got our fair share of beer and some more to go and then left on a bike ride around the back bay and south end neighborhoods. They are what Boston always looks like in movies with brick facades, stone steps and ivy. Also in the neighborhood is the Fairmont which we all visited to meet Katie Copley, the world famous hotel dog.

Boston is a very livable city, on par with San Francisco. Fabian heard it is the number one walking city in the country, and I believe it. I mean they spent fifteen billion dollars over 20 years to bury a massive freeway that previously worked its way above ground through the heart of the city. The project was undoubtedly flawed, but it shows the city's dedication to greening and improvement. I'm into it.
