Today was short day obligatory as I have to delay my arrival in Middlebury to Wednesday as my phone is being shipped there by Wednesday. It was a blessing in disguise as the weather cleared up, and the ride down Lake Champlain was beyond awesome, though it became dreadful hot and humid.

I met another traveling couple today, Montreal kids my age heading to Boston as well. Unfortunately I got a flat tire and told then to go on, so we lost each other but I hope we can meet further down the road.

I arrived in Burlington, the biggest (and only, as my host informed me) city in Vermont, a state of merely 600,000 people. The city is beautiful with a pedestrian only Main Street that boasts a massive Ben and Jerry's, outdoor exchange, the Vermont flannel company, and a brewpub that carries a beer voted a few years ago to be the best in the world, no joke. It was pretty good, though too strong for me.

My hosts are a great couple, very active in the local and touring bike scenes. We had a dinner if fresh tomatoes and pesto that tastes like summer on a plate, even though the weather took a turn for the worse in the evening. They showed off their impressive music collection and showed me some great routes for tomorrow, another short day!!
