I have become a sucker for a McDonalds breakfast. The way I see it, I usually spend around $15 on breakfast including OJ and tip at a diner, and I get the same thing for about $6.80 at McDonalds. The big breakfast with pancakes is 1380 calories, and I can't imagine a diner is any less, and even if it were I try to pack as many in as possible. So when there is a McDonalds around, I usually go for it.

Which makes me feel much worse about eating fast food for lunch. Today was Arby's, mainly because I don't think I've seen one all trip. I've begun to loathe a bit the crowds at combination truck stop/fast food joints; through no fault of theirs, of course, they simply aren't generally the cream of the crop. Maybe I've been in the road too long.

Anyway that was my nourishment until dinner time, mac'n'cheese and tuna, satisfying as usual. Roadside secret: if you don't have access to the milk and butter necessary for mac'n'cheese, a few mayonnaise packets do the trick. Call me a pervert, but it does the job.

I managed to find a spot to camp on Lake Michigan, no small feat when practically every inch is private. My spot was on the Hiawatha sportsman's club hunting grounds. Luckily it isn't the season; fishing is the only sport. Camp was nice and calm with a beautiful sunset.
