Glacier national park has many an amazing sight. Today I hiked to Sun Point, saw around ten different peaks over 8000', two glaciers, a lake and a waterfall, all from the same point. I hiked the Highline trail which just opened for the season yesterday because of snow melt. The trail follows a sheer cliff above Going to the Sun Road, an architectural feat of godly proportions. I drove the road itself twice up and down to see the most spectacular scenery, still perhaps bar Yosemite, in my short life. Please take a look at today's pictures, they are only a fraction of the majesty that is contained herewith in.

But NEVER, have I seen the beauty of a microbrewed IPA from Whitefish at the price of $4.10 in a national park. It is a freak of nature, it simply should not exist on this planet. And of all the sights and attractions in Glacier, when I come back, the first thing I shall do is return to the Lake Macdonald Lodge bar. Also, a fascinating park ranger talk given this evening about bats. Did you know that of the roughly 5000 species of mammals, 1100 are bats? I didn't.

Tomorrow is the climb over Going to the Sun Road. My alarm is set for 5am, I could not be more excited. No distance gained today, 0 miles, day 13!
