We arrived a lunchtime with the intention of doing an overnight stop but our driver, not surprisingly, declared he was going no further for a couple of days so we had an extra day to enjoy the sights - me I enjoyed the hostel and the electric blanket I retired to bed and stayed there for 18 hours it was lovely. I was then able to enjoy the sights of Lijiang. This is a real tourist town lots of Chinese enjoying themselves shops of all kinds, street food, restaurants and bars galore the bars sell liquor by the bottle and beer in 6 packs. The Chinese really do party when they are out for the night.

The goods on sale are much the same as we have been seeing elsewhere expect that now jade is commonly available. The food is is excellent and I am getting better with the chop sticks.
