We made it to the Everest National Park and set up camp for the night. By the time we had the tents up everyone was pretty exhausted as the altitude made even the simplest task really difficult.
We made our first yak dung fire - I do not recommend it as a fuel of choice. As there is a lack of oxygen everything took forever to cook. By the time supper was finished we were dropping like flies to altitude sickness. So take the medication and go to bed. A very cold night and packing the tents in the morning was so difficult I had to get help to get things in the stuff-sacks.
The us has sprung a leak so our departure is delayed and in the end it is decided to go to the Everest view point rather than do the 8 hour drive to base camp - it was 100 km further on.
As so many people were ill we stayed at a hostel for the night although it was almost colder inside, there was no hot water and the long drop toilets were very smelly!
