Cappidocia - Goreme
A great little town with shops and bars to suit everyone.

Campsite set high over the town with cave accommodation and a swimming pool - bliss!

I haad my hair cut as you will be able to see in the following pictures.

Kaymakli Underground City

Goreme Open Air Museum

An early arrival at the campsite allowed a shopping trip for the cook group, we went to a near by hypermarket but the range of food was seriously limited. Hardly any frozen goods at all. We cooked bulgar wheat which was new to some on the bus, spicy mince and ratatuoille, but we had a number of complaints about the meat being too spicy not to sure how we are going to reconcile the hot vs plain factions...

Day 2 and we take an excursion to the underground city - an awesome place with 8 living levels. This area has approximately 100 of these cities which housed early Christian communities. the largest of these cities house 10,000 people for 300 years.

Day 3
This was the morning for ballooning 31 of the group went off at 5 in the morning to take a sunrise ride over Cappadocia. I did not go up got up early to watch the show. there were 32 hot air balloons in the air over the town. I took far too many pictures. A good time was had by all.

A walk down the hill to the Goreme Open Air Museum this consists of dwellings, monasteries and churches from the 12 c.

Then a lazy afternoon by the pool with the washing done and clean clothes in preparation for a 3 day road trip to the Iran Border.
