life in a Chateau...
After a very late night with all the train/taxi issues, we slept until 11am!

(view from our window)
Breakfast @ noon.....with wine!

Chateau de Roques (circa 1500's) was wonderful!

Because we couldn't train to Barcelona, we ended up in this area 2 days earlier(for a toltal of 4 nights)...just in time for 'La Fete du Vin'...St Emilion's annual Art & WINE FESTIVAL!!!
All the Chateau were lined up inside little white tents around this medival walled-city for free tastings!!!
Poor us, whatever will we do stuck in the worlds greatest red wine region located in one of the worlds most picturesque towns...hmmm?

OH, guess who we saw at the festival??? The mother & son (Carlos!) we met on the train in Italy and had so much fun with! I just love them!!!

Dinner at an awesome little pizza place...
...before heading back to the 'tents' (they were there ALL weekend until MIDNIGHT!)

Taxied back very late with Rober (this is the man who sent 'the son of my wife' to pick us up when we were stuck with no train/bus at midnight last night)...I will miss that old man!
Woke up on a rainy Sunday, heading back w/ Rober into St Emilion, for a few more tastings and a relaxing day at their Web Bar, our absolute favorite place in Europe!Owned by a woman from Rhode Island -we spent about 12-15 hours at this place all weekend- incredible food, wine, coffee, internet, comfy chairs...what more could one want?

Back to Chateau de Roques for a great dinner and more incredible wine...

Up early and, once again, had Robert take us into St. Emilion for a Chateau Tour...

Chateau La Grace Dieu: (me & the owner above)
The vats where the grapes ferment... The antique press...

The barrels where the wine ages for 10 months... The cellars...

Finally, the TASTINGS!!!

Back to the Web Bar for an early dinner, then to our Chateau for our final evening of wine & chocolate...
Rober took us to the Libourne train station @ 8:30am...back to Bordeaux, then finally...
PARIS!!!
