Woke up & realized that the only available train to Florence stopped in Rifaldi, not Santa Maria Novella (the closest to center city). Tried to change it, but once again...no luck. Had to take a second train into SMN...

Arrived much later than planned...hungry & sweaty as usual (this train travel is dirty work!). Checked into Gabriella's (Canadian born-Italian married) lovely 3rd floor apartment in the center of Florence. This place was wonderful! ...I soooo wish we had more time here.
      

Quick shower & out for our only night in Florence...

Another incredible meal and a fabulous bottle of Chianti...(even the waiters double kiss you in Italy!)
  

Finished with a nightly tour of the Duomo and a gelato...yum!
                                   

Back to our terrace for a nightcap...
   

Breakfast on the rooftop terrace...hard to aquire in Florence, laws prohibit them from being built, they have to had been here forever!
    

.....off to catch the 1 hour train to Pisa
