We got back on the plane at 1130 singapore time (0130 Australian time) For some strange reason the crew rattled around for a couple of hours then fed us Dinner! The lights were turned off from 0400-0600 so not a lot of sleeping happened, but no worse than a night shift. It was quite cute to see the young German tourists craining their necks for their first glimpse of Australia as we landed - with their phrase book, travel guide and papers clutched in their hands. That was us just a few weeks prior. We landed at 0850 and had our bags and through customs by 0925. The new electronic passport recognition is up and runnung. You put the photo page of your passport under a scanner and get a ticket. You then put this ticket in the turnstyle and face a camera at the exit gate for 10 seconds. It then takes about 30 seconds while it compares you to the data base and you are out. Great unless you go for plastic surgery on your overseas holiday.
Australian money seemed unfamilar as we made our last duty free purchases.
Robert was waiting outside and took us over to Sams where we hung out for a couple of hours and handed over the treasures before heading home and catching a few hours shuteye. Every thing loked so green and unique and even though the holiday was fantastic- there is no place like home!
