Chiquita slept with us for most of the night so that was nice.

Woke up early once again and went outside to rest on my hammock...

Had something to eat with Joanne...

Exciting!!! Eh? lol

Today, we decided to head to Manzanillo once again to check out the beaches. We determined it would not be as busy as the week-end - and we were right! There were some people at the beach but not nearly as crowded as it would be on a Saturday or Sunday.

Joanne did a little fishing and I did a little snorkeling and surfing. Unfortunately, Joanne wasn't able to catch any fish.

The snorkeling was pretty good. I just snorkeled along the beach and the coral reef. There were lots of small fish and I took photos and videos of them swimming around me. The fish swim quite fast so they were difficult to capture on camera.

The surfing was fun (if you can call it that :) lol. I just sat on the board and laid on it and rode the waves. I tried to stand on the board a couple times but that did not go well - fell off every time. Oh well, it was fun! We just used the surf board that we found in the garbage the day before. It was not the best surf board but it did the trick for some fun for today. :) Joanne even tried a couple of times.

After a bit, we noticed the beach was starting to get a little bit more busier - and we don't like crowds!! So, Joanne and I decided to pack up and head on out to another place to explore.

Next stop ended up being a bridge because Joanne thought she saw some fish swimming in a creek. Joanne fished and I took pictures of her and of the turtles and trees in the area. Unfortunately, Joanne was not able to catch a fish.

We decided to continue on with our adventure and ended up stopping at another beach (so many beautiful beaches in the area, who could blame us?). We stopped at a beach in Punta Uva which is close to Playa Chiquita. The beach was fun and we took our surf board out into the water. Unfortunately, this is where the surf board died.. a wave hit it and broke it into two. Oh well, at least the surf board had once last ride before it will go to surf heaven.. lol.. or maybe someone else like us will try to fix it again.. You never know?

So, we headed back to the cottage and spent some time with Chiquita...

Oh yes, I wanted to talk about another issue once again. Before I forget, I will mention it here. I had mentioned that people drive like crazy here. Well, I've noticed speed signs in the area so it seems there is a speed limit in the area. It just does not seem that many people follow it.. unless of course a police officer is in the area. Just like in Canada and probably the rest of the world, once a police officer makes their appearance, everyone slows down and behaves like good "little girls and boys". lol I've seen the police several time and each time they pass, people start to behave. I think they need to make more of a presence in this area because reckless driving is a real issue in this area. Oh yes, when the police drive by, I make sure to smile and wave at them.. and they return the favor.. :)

OK.. On with the day.. so after visiting with Chiquita for a bit, Joanne and went to the grocery store to get a few things. There is this fruit that is red with extensions on it.. anyways, everywhere you go.. you see this red fruit on the ground. We thought we'd try it.. and guess what.. we liked it.. a lot.. the fruit tastes amazing.. ! :) We also picked up a few other items at the store.

After grocery shopping, Joanne and I went to the Veggie Restaurant for something to eat.

We then headed back to cottage to visit with Chiquita and relax a little.

It is currently 6:10 pm and we are back at the veggie restaurant (which is closed) working on our blogs. Like always, we are typing away in the dark.

We will give Mom and the kids a call on Skype shortly and then head back to our cottage..

Hopefully, Chiquita will be there.. our last night with her... ;( . We are going to miss "our little Chiquita". I hope the people that stay at the cottage next are kind and nice to her... I can only hope!

Tomorrow, we drop off the car in San Jose and then go to our final hotel.

It's amazing how time flies! When we started this trip in Costa Rica, it seemed we would be in the country for a long time.. Well, the time just flew by and soon we will be heading back to Canada.. and to the snow.. yuck.. I will have to start planning for our next trip.. :)

Adios for now... :)
