Well, guess who slept with us last night? Our little Chiquita. It was raining outside so we let her in the cottage.. and she ended up in the bed with us... She is so cute.... ! :)

Around 6:30 am, I woke up bright and early and went for my morning bike ride. I rode to Punta Uva on my bike (to the left of the cottage road) then to Cocles (to the right of the cottage road). The ride was nice now that it was early in the morning. It was not crazy with traffic.

After getting my morning exercise, I headed back to the cottage for a little breakfast and to visit with Joanne and Chiquita. I even went on my hammock again.

After having something to eat, Joanne and I decided to head to Manzanillo to check out the beaches. The area was quite beautiful with many beautiful beaches. The only thing was since it is Saturday, the beaches were quite busy. We therefore made a decision to come back on Monday when it would be less busy.

We did go for a little walk on a trail that was parallel to the beach. Joanne and I had a little stroll hand and hand which was quite nice.

This area is quite beautiful. If we were ever to return to Costa Rica, this would be the area that we would see again. There was this cute little beach cabin that would be great to stay at during our next visit to this country. I took pictures for future reference.

So we left the beach early - deciding to return when it was less busy and decided to head to Puerto Viejo to do some gift shopping.

While driving on the road, Joanne noticed a surf board that was on the side of the road with someone's garbage. I checked it out and put it in the car. We thought it might be fun to just use while we are staying in the area. Once back at the cottage, Joanne used some tape and put the surf board back together (just like Humpty Dumpty :) lol

We were then back on the road to Puerto Viejo. Puerto Viejo is a fairly large town with many people on the streets. There are lots of stores and restaurants in the area. At first, we were having trouble finding a gift shop with t-shirts and such. I was pretty much giving up hope when I saw it... A gift shop with tons of great things. Joanne and I had tons of fun shopping at this little store.

The owner of the shop was quite helpful and nice. She helped us find t-shirt sizes for all the people we wanted to buy for (Frederick, Fiona, Mom plus our neighbors - Tony and Tina). We also got little tin figures with surf boards for Mom, Fiona and Frederick. Of course, we ended getting a magnet for Mom - plus one for us. It was a great store to buy all our gift in one place.. Bonus!!! :)

After shopping, Joanne and I headed back to the cottage to rest and to play a game of Rummy.

Once we played a few games, we then headed to the Veggie Restaurant to grab a snack and smoothie - plus we wanted to get an early start on the internet. ;-)

This is our third night using the internet at this Restaurant. The owner lets us use the internet even after restaurant hours which is really a bonus. We start off when there is plenty of light and then end when it is pitch dark all around us.

Chiquita is our gaurd cat while we are staying at the cottage. She stays watch on the porch. Of course, she likes taking many breaks though... but we don't care because she is such a great cat... :)
