We travelled through here on the God awful bus journey from Pokhara to Nepal Ganj..... (wait for it... it was horrendous and that episode is yet to come )!!!! but we didnt stop off this time, just passed through...... as we were here two years ago. However, its an absolutely amazing place and well worth a night stopover to hire a push bike and cycle leisurely round to visit all the magnificent Temples erected here by every nation, in Memory of Buddha, ... a beautiful place..calm and serene.... and see the tree where he found enlightenment
I am doing this small (map pin entry) blog from a place in the middle of absolutely nowhere..we have landed ...a small and lazy village.....so rural and backward its.in another world ... and I am on the old and antiquated dial up connection...remember back 10 yrs in the Uk and you have it..... 5 mins to load a page, definitely no hope of loading any pictures!! there is little light, i can barely see the keyoard and there are flies buzzing around me everywhere and in my face ... ghastly!!, i expect the power to fail every second as i type, the internet connection has crashed twice in the process of this paragraph...... and its absolutely stifling here up in the high 40's, a dry dry heat, there is nobody here speaking English and no restaurants, just small local ....what can i say, .... huts where they cook one dish over a fire !!not even an ATM! nearest one 60 kms round trip ...which unless you have a motor bike which are very very few and far between, is a journey of several hours cramped up like a sardine in a shared jeep... after the bus, getting from Nepal Ganj to this place, we took a shared jeep which is not unlikle a bus except its a jeep!!! similar in size to a landrover discovery...!! and we had 17 people inside!!yes thats 17!! plus eight people on the roof.. and luggage of course... and 4 guys hanging on the side and back ..one of them the 'conductor' who swings around the outside, poking himself through the window at intervals to collect the fares..utterly mad!!!!.and they were still stopping for more people every 20 seconds!!! we were dripping and shattered after about 16 or more hours travelling ... here there is no broadband ..no taxis...only bicycle's or cycle rickshaws and bullock carts and barely any decent roads.... no nothing..unlike Goa/ India where whole families rtavel on a scooter here they do it on a bicycle!! yes i saw dad cycling with two kids on he cross bar and Mum side saddle on the back mud guard!!!.i just thought i would do what i could here, like check my email and make sure no probs at home or urgent commumications, as we have no phones etc (no network again!) and are pretty much cut off from what we know as civilisation..... and whilst here just to say... yes we are still alive...(How i do wish we were in a five star Gillian!!!! oh yes plse..bring it on .... but there are none..... just two 'hotels here both ummm what can i say .. basic??!! LOL and i am sat on a single computer, at the back of a bar behind 'reception' if you can call it that!!!(a bar thingy) surrounded by hundreds of bottles of booze hehe funny how that gets everywhere eh!! so i dont know when i will be able to continue my blog, forgive the mixed up entry! ....... circumstances!! oh just seen a tray of eggs in the hot cupboard next to me as well! its unbelievable this place has to be the farthest we have ever been from the real world ...... I will try and write more later this has taken 2 hours!! bye for now and good to hear from everyone and feel awful i cant make any replies! but thanks for sticking with us xx ......... oh and sorry, cant think of the name of place we are in!!but cant wait to get out... ........ it feels like hells fire!

Hi Gilly and Mick
OMG I will never moan about a long economy flight ever again. First class compared to 17 in a jeep. How on earth did you manage it. I did conjure up a funny picture in my mind about the conductor hanging on to the jeep and collecting the fares.lol What a place you'r in at the moment. Can't wait to see the photo's.
