Where I stayed
Queen Mary 2
. My academic conference call is all set for Friday so I have begun to fret about it now. I hope the connection is strong and I sound wise.
I ventured into the Commodore Club to see if I would find some familiar faces, but none were to be seen. The weather changed to hot and humid over the afternoon, and the ship moved steadily at 23 knots. I returned to the stateroom for a pre-dinner nap, before getting dressed for dinner (semi formal). The whole gang was present with comfortable and lively conversation throughout. After dinner JoRina went back to the stateroom to study and I went dancing in the Queens Room. We met up for tea and coffee between sets in the stateroom and listened to our music on ITunes. I returned to the Queens Room for the second set of ball room dancing, and can see a little more progress. I have gotten to know other women traveling single who enjoy dancing. There is a group of about 6 of us on this segment and we all mingle politely. Back in my stateroom by midnight with JoRina studying and a pot of tea before bed.
I thought about getting up at 7:30 again, but decided against it. I slept till 9:30, got up, showered and left the stateroom so JoRina could sleep in. The promenade deck was wet so instead of walking out there I went to the gym and rode a stationary bike for about 1/2 of the course. ( not far or challenging, but more than I my interests). I found a banana smoothly for breakfast then wandered all over the ship looking for a place to settle, with no success. I returned back to the stateroom to rest and JoRina went to the Atlantic Room to study. I could not rest, although tired. The weather was cloudy with some rain and a chill in the air. I missed John and having a shoulder to rest my head on. So I got up and went to the Kings Court for some pasta, then off to dance lessons (the fox trot). I was present for dance class 5 minutes before its started but I opted to cut class and give in to my body' s demand for sleep. JoRina was still studying in the Atlantic Room while I slept for a few hours. I joined her later in the afternoon and caught up with my work/ school
