This Sunday we went to Urcos. Urcos is very close to Calca and we had planned on meeting my co-worker, Tati, there at the terminal at 9:30, but neither of us arrived on time and we ended up taking a mototaxi from Calca to Urcos. We had been told the show would start at 10:30 so we didn't think we had time to just walk there. Looking back it would have been ok, but we didn't know when they were actually going to start.

I hadn't eaten, so I ordered a rocoto relleno, a stuffed pepper, and ate that accompanied by a not-so-cold beer. Again, the floating-in-water technique just does not cut it.

This was going to be a festival, Incan, of course, praising water. We had been told they were going to put on a short play about it followed by many dances performed by local students. We took a walk and when we started hearing music we came back and there were already dancers in the stage area, so either they didn't do the play or it lasted for all of 3 minutes.

The dances were beautiful and so lively. It just makes me want to get out there and dance a bit, though they did look pretty worn out after! Each group danced for quite a while, so they were all panting pretty hard after finishing. Still looks fun though, and definitely a good workout.
