There were so many highlights in Prague. It really is a beautiful city.

My favourite place was the Old Town - Stare Mesto - with Church of Our Lady. At night, lit up, it looked like a fairy tale castle and to make things even better it started to snow while we were there. Across from the Church are the remains on the Old Town Hall and the Astronomical Clock; which on the hour a man trumpets from the top of the bell tower. Looking at the Church while listening to the trumpeting made the whole experience very magical.

Despite the freezing weather we went on a walking tour of the city. The tour guide was fantastic. We saw so much and for most things he had a very humorous story to go with the sight.   Municipal House, a concert hall looked lovely, the Jewish Quarter very interesting and sobering. The Old -New Synagogue that was built around 1270 is one of the oldest in Europe. Behind this is the Old Jewish Cemetery which holds 12,000 headstones and almost 100,000 bodies but is all on a tiny plot of land.

We visited the Palace on the hilltop - where the President also has his office. Within the Palace grounds includes St Vitus' Cathedral, another huge Church, a convent, lovely gardens and a vineyard. It occupies a huge amount of land in total.

We walked from the Little Quarter, over St Charles Bridge into the Old Town. Just over the bridge are lots of tourist souvenir stands, selling marionettes. Of course, I bought one!

We also went up the funicular to Petrin - an Eiffel Tower look alike with a spectacular view over the city. Lunch was also pretty good here!

All in all, Prague is one of the most gorgeous cities I've seen and one of the biggest so far. It really is a shame that the rest of Czech isn't as pretty or well maintained.
