Driving through the border of Germany and into the Czech Republic we saw lots of snow and the temperature dropped to 3 (not very cold as we are soon to find out!) Not only has the temperature dropped but so to has the quality of roads, houses and general infrastructure.

We walked through Pilsen this morning. It is quite a nice town with very old buildings, some of the buildings have paintings painted onto the sides. A lot of the houses too are painted very bright colours - green, pink, yellow or orange are the most common. Whole tower blocks of apartments are painted this way as well.

We also saw our first lot of trolley buses. Buses that use overhead electric cables to power them. Very similar to trams, except they have normal bus wheels, they can only go where the overhead lines allow them!

We went on the Pilsner Urquell Beer Brewery tour, which was very interesting. The factory can produce up to 1,000,000L of beer per day on demand. The tour finished in an underground cellar where we all got a plastic cup of unfiltered beer (the best kind supposedly), although I decided that I would still have preferred mine with lemonade added to it!
